Terms of Service

Agreement to these terms

These terms apply when you use Asteriox at www.asteriox.com, app.asteriox.com and api.asteriox.com. Asteriox is operated by Jude Nimo (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

• “Service” means the Asteriox websites, dashboard, public investigation demo, API and related support.
• “User” or “you” means any person who accesses or uses the Service.
• “Your content” means the assessments, channel selections, notes and other information you save in the Service.

2. The Service

Asteriox is a prototype for exploring spacecraft telemetry and anomaly investigations and saving operator assessments. It currently uses the public ESA-ADB dataset and does not offer a way to upload your own telemetry. The Service is provided free of charge for evaluation. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.

3. Not for operational use

Investigations, analyses and other output are generated automatically from historical public data and may be incomplete or wrong. They are for evaluation and research only. Do not rely on the Service to operate or command a real spacecraft, or to make safety, mission or commercial decisions about any real system.

4. Accounts and access

The protected dashboard requires signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping it secure. Tell us at hello@asteriox.com if you think someone else has used it. The public investigation demo is available without an account.

We may suspend or end your access if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, or where needed to protect the Service or other users.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the Service unlawfully or in a way that infringes anyone's rights;
• access or try to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to use, or get around security or usage limits;
• interfere with or overload the Service, including through automated requests beyond normal use;
• reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
• submit malicious code, or sensitive information or information about other people.

6. Your content

You keep any rights you have in your content. You allow us to store, process and display it to provide and secure the Service and to evaluate operator feedback. Saved reviews are kept only for the period described in the Privacy Policy, so keep your own copy of anything you need.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design and the Asteriox name, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any rights in it other than to use the Service as described here. The ESA-ADB dataset and other third-party materials remain subject to their own terms.

8. Third-party services

Sign-in, hosting and storage rely on Google services, which are governed by Google's own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Availability and disclaimer

We provide the Service “as is” and “as available”. As a prototype, it may be unavailable, change without notice or contain errors. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or opportunity, or for any loss arising from reliance on the Service's output. Because the Service is free, our total liability to you in connection with it is limited to £100.

If you use the Service as a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time. To ask us to delete your information, see the Privacy Policy. Sections 6 to 10 and 13 continue to apply after your use ends.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to tell signed-in users. If you keep using the Service after a change, the updated terms apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
